Christa Butler was born and raised in Kentucky, but never admitted it. She started writing for the screen in her teens, making comedy sketches on the family camcorder that made her mom consider disowning her. Christa writes high-concept, female-centric dramedies with unexpected twists and a dash of spice. She developed her writing and voice through UCLA’s Writing for TV Professional Program. Her pilots and features have placed in multiple contests, including Austin, PAGE, ScreenCraft, and CineStory. Christa has taught in private schools on both coasts and overseas and finds investigative due diligence via social media to be a fine hobby.

She is a Finalist for the 2024 ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship.
